HAND UP Health Services comprises a diverse group of volunteers delivering free, community-based services that reduce the personal and social harms associated with drug use. We are a Syringe Services program of the New Hampshire Harm Reduction Coalition operating in Strafford and Rockingham counties and the surrounding area.
HAND UP supports people to make any positive change in their lives and to reduce the risk of drug overdose, HIV/HCV and other viral and bacterial infection, and other harms associated with the drug use and misuse. We reach people through direct outreach and by referral from health care and other service providers and peers in the community. Our services are confidential; we do not collect or share identifying information about anyone we serve.

Hand Up Ministries is a Faith based prison after-care program for men and women that have just been released from prison. We offer a “Hand Up” NOT a “Hand Out”. We provide housing complete with utilities, transportation, meals, clothing, hygiene products and, most importantly, a structured environment to help these men and women re-adjust to society.
Put Your Hands Up
We offer 24/7 addiction recovery & support with weekly group meetings and weekly individual counseling as needed. We have classes twice each week to strengthen character development, life skills and others as needed by the individual. Residents are encouraged to attend the church of their choice.
We help residents find permanent employment or if they are unable to work, we help to get Social Security and/or Veterans Benefits started. Our goal is to assist them in being able to support themselves so that they do not remain homeless.
We charge a nominal program fee after permanent employment or other support has been established.
Hand Up Ministries was founded in July of 1996 by a man with a vision inspired by God. Over the years this ministry has grown exponentially and has helped hundreds of men and women. We are looking forward to many more years to come as we grow and are able to acquire more property.
